Presents for Paws Program Needs Donations
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, many animal shelters are looking for donations this year. However, the Washington Animal Rescue League is truly a unique program because they serve low-income pet owners and their pets.
The Washington Animal Rescue League, an organization that provides low-income pet owners veterinary care is currently asking people to donate pet presents for the Presents for Paws program.
In the Presents for Paws program, low-income pet owners can sign their pets up for the anual pet present deliveries during the holidays. With the economy in a bad place, the League knows it is going to have to work extra hard to meet their goal of being able to give prsents to 200 pets located in the Washington DC metro area this year. The bad economy also means that more pet owners could really use the help this holiday season.
If you are interested in donating to Presents for Paws this year, you can donate unopened cat and dog treats, dry pet food, cat scratching posts, new toys for dogs and cats, dog sweaters, and new beds for cats and dogs. You can drop any items you want to donate off at the Washington Animal Rescue League until December 23.
